Gotthard have spent more than 30 years delivering straight-ahead, heartfelt hard rock, and they haven’t lost a step. Their latest album, “Stereo Crush,” ranks among their best. For Switzerland’s most successful band, with 17 number one albums and more than 3.5 million records sold, that says a lot.
After wrapping a European tour with Y&T, a run of festivals, and three “Rock Monsters of Switzerland” arena shows with Krokus, Gotthard are back with new music. “More Stereo Crush” is an eight-track EP with plenty to dig into: five previously unreleased songs from the “Stereo Crush” sessions, “Mayday” which had only been available as a video, a radio edit of the ballad “Burning Bridges,” and a brand-new duet of fan favorite “Liverpool” featuring Nic Maeder and Krokus veteran Marc Storace.
“More Stereo Crush” arrives on March 13, 2026. It will be available as an MCD, a limited mini LP, a CD bundle with “Stereo Crush,” and digitally.
Since the 90s, Gotthard have built their own legend by always pushing forward. Today’s lineup features founding members Leo Leoni and Marc Lynn, along with Freddy Scherer, Nic Maeder, and drummer Flavio Mezzodi. With three primary songwriters in the band, the ideas keep coming.
There is also a renewed collaboration with Chris von Rohr. More than 20 years after they last worked together, they teamed up with their former co-producer and songwriting partner to create “Liverpool,” a positive, up-tempo rocker that adds another color to “Stereo Crush.” The new duet version sticks in your head. Every track on “More Stereo Crush” underscores the band’s commitment to the music and to the fans who have stuck with them.
Longtime producer Charlie Bauerfeind, often called the band’s unofficial sixth member, played a key role once again. “Charlie is a workaholic, just like us,” says Leo Leoni. “We’ve known each other for so many years that we don’t even have to talk about a lot of things. Creatively, we understand each other perfectly.” If early signs are anything to go by, 2026 is shaping up to be another big year for Gotthard.
